Why did they not switch over to C4 at 6pm as they normally do? This outfit should be made to give the race to Sky and TV3 allowed to show highlights 6 hours later.Thank God they dont have the Melbourne Cup rights do they? | 819325 | 2009-10-11 08:26:00 | Tv3 said last weekend they would put the news on for 15 mins it wouldn't be worth switching to c4 for 15 mins and nothing happened during those seven laps while the news was on. The best result is HOLDEN won 12346789 plainly and simply wiping out any for domination Go the HOLDENS i say. |

Yes I too think TV3s coverage was pathetic. I think because of the ads we missed on 2 or 3 safety car interventions which we didn't find out what they were for. Another time Greg Murphy was coming up behind someone and bang an ad break. Why didn't they just put the ads in when Ch 7 did. :) |

| 819331 | 2009-10-11 08:54:00 | If you had ads on when ch 7 did you would complain even more cause ch7 do and have had ad beaks within 2 mins of each other in a 10 to 15 min period. There were times today when the ch7 commentary went to a break but tv3 stayed with the race while the aussies were on theres. if it weren't for ads you wouldn't be able to see the race at all and im sure thats not what us race fans want, Tv3's budget is way smaller than skys but sky don't show it cause tv3 have the rights for 5 years so wait and see what happens then maybe sky will place a better bid next time. |

| 819332 | 2009-10-11 09:03:00 | I don't mind the ads at all. Gotta pay for it somehow, and if anything dramatic happens they will show you with a repeat or highlights reel a few mins later. Not switching to C4 while the news was on was a bad idea though. There was no need to cut the news short, they should have switched to C4 for the whole hour I reckon. Thought they were encouraging people to get freeview not being sympathetic to those who aren't on it yet. :confused: |
