Get the best PSU now and pay for it or get inferior now and then later replace Motherboard and other components when the PSU spikes and takes them out when it dies. Your choice. |

2010-06-22 05:59:00 | Yeah, using a cheap PSU is just simply a bad idea. Would you put rubbish quality petrol in your car and ruin the engine? Didn't think so. Why do effectively the same thing with your PC?

2010-06-22 11:18:00 | hey all, thanks for your advice and concerns much appreciated. which of these two would you consider the better theres only $10 difference in price so thats not a concern. im taking sweeps advice and going for a modular one as i like the option to have only the cables you need in case.(thanks) www.corsair.com thermaltake.com.au :thanks

2010-06-22 11:50:00 | Definitely the Corsair. 52 Amps on 12volts compared to the Thermaltake with only 36 Amps. And the Thermaltake is probably overrated anyway. Thermaltake like to put fancy LEDs etc before performance. "5 colour changing pattern for optimal gaming" ... yeah I game by looking at my monitor, not my PSU. I bought a Thermaltake PSU once, I would not recommend them. They are often average designs that Thermaltake puts a new sticker on and claims an extra 100 watts or so. Corsair on the other hand are much more consistent and reputable. There are sometimes a couple of Thermaltake PSUs (usually the really high end series) which are actually OK but the rest of the time I wouldn't bother. I wouldn't bother even then though, because you can usually get something better for cheaper anyway.

2010-06-23 10:13:00 | You should buy a PSU that is more then you need so that it can last you for a while! | PC builder (15482) | |
