For drugs I would expect they would surveil myself and house first. If they just busted in I would sue their ass. Wanted to be an ahole lol. As far as *555 used it before and had satisfaction of seeing idiot overtaker pulled over a few kilometres up the road. Currently, in a court of law, the prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are guilty as charged and I don't expect that to change and nor do I want it to change. When you get to court (if accused) the prosecution needs to produce witnesses and/or other forensic evidence and etc. The 555 and 111 numbers presumably can pick up Caller ID if you phone from home and therefore they know where you live. Even if you use a cellphone I guess the authorities can track you down in the event the call is malicious. I do not know this for sure but ISPs may give out info to track down illegal software or music traders for example so I can only think that some people do want to reduce crime but may be somewhat worried as to the consequence in retaliation if identified by the alleged offender(s). The whole point of the new site in New Zealand is that it protects the whistle blower and I also believe that some members of the prosecuting authorities may be corrupt and may pass on information to others for financial gain or other favours. In my view we would be very dopey not to take this into consideration before phoning the police which is why a third party puts another layer in and do not keep notes. Hopefully, people will not phone just to report to annoy others but this already happens does it not? Take PressF1 (a community) for example where people break the rules or are suspected of breaking the rules or maybe just bending them a little or whatever. We get to send off a post report in a manner that is anonymous and our moderaters deal with any infractions and as a member you don't get to face the accuser and nor do you get to know who He/She is. If you do not agree with this then you can always leave can you not? |

Do the Police or whatever want extra information as to serious crime or not? Do we trust all Police? I for one don't. Much like I don't trust some people in other occupations like car dealers, lawyers, politicians, public servants and the list goes on. |
