It might be backhaul lines in preparation for the cabinet rollout next year, or to provide additional data capacity for XT. Is there a school or hospital nearby that they could be running fibre to? Hi somebody...no school or hospital....I too thought the upgrade was supposed to be next year March I think....but cant think why fibre would be laid down our road...we arent a main rod at all, if fact we are kinda in between main roads if you know what i mean... |

With the cabinets they're putting in down here (in Wellington), they have laid a whole heap of new 100mm green PVC ducting for the fibre + power + anything else they want to put down it in the future. |

| 819427 | 2009-10-12 00:39:00 | Got a link to that calendar SB? :) There's a spreadsheet + GIS data on Chorus' website, but the easiest way is to use the Telecom Wholesale tool www.telecomwholesale.co.nz - punch in your address, click on "Show cabinets within exchange", and it will show the boundaries of each cabinet, and the planned roll-out date(s). |

The June 2009 figure is for ADSL2+ at the Marewa exchange, which has probably been done. Upgrades at the exchange for ADSL2+ probably don't require running fibre past your street.
