2010-06-23 19:33:00 | Gidday guys, I just got a new laptop a couple weeks ago, and it keeps crashing with a BlueScreen. Laptop is a Acer Aspire 5741G win7 home prem 64-bit (Intel core i3, Geforce GT320M, 4GB mem) I managed to do a debug of the memory dump and it came up with netio.sys along with a couple other objects. I tried to enable driver verifier after reading up on the net and then win7 would not start due to BSOD, so it reverted back to an old restore point. It has happened twice this morning, and I wasnt even at the computer - had firefox open but.. I cant debug anymore as the restore point didnt have debugging installed then This should hopefully be the latest minidump cid-eab599110b2edf4f.office.live.com

And its the same stop error (social.answers.microsoft.com) And Symantec / Norton internet security can also cause this BSOD. Did you / someone install Nvidia chipset / SATA drivers on this?? Because I dont think its got a Nvidia chipset. Its intel. There are files relating to Nvidia in that dmp file. nvhda64v.sys is one of them |

2010-06-24 07:04:00 | Yeah I have Zonealarm, however I uninstalled it, yet it was still crashing, I think there is some kind of norton but its not running. zonealarm reinstalled after restore point. Also think there may be some mcafee on here to (all part of the package etc with acer). edit: half asleep, zonealarm is uninstalled did that this morning. I have avast as antivirus.

2010-06-24 07:31:00 | Sounds alot like a software fault, before it gets to the point of claiming waranty support, id be doing a rebuild via recovery partition, or the disk you will have made when you first got the laptop. | Alex B (15479) | |
2010-06-24 07:44:00 | Yeah warrantee for 2 years I think. Well, im not sure if there is a recovery partition. Ill have to look at all the acer software that come with, cos i never made a disk? | MrBeef (342) | |
2010-06-24 07:45:00 | Make sure all 3 are not on the system. Use nortons removal tool, mcafee's tool to remove them completely. If all of them were installed at the same time (and all had firewalls, inc windows firewall), I wouldnt be surprised if it crashed. Make sure you install one AV and one fw ONLY | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-06-24 07:57:00 | So make recovery disks before you need same unless supplied by Acer already. | Sweep (90) | |
2010-06-24 22:00:00 | The Windows 7 firewall is pretty good and certainly enough for joe bloggs, ditch zone alarm and mccrappy and nortoooooons! | SolMiester (139) | |
