| 1112703 | 2010-06-23 02:35:00 | Hi, I have a vertical pink line about 3/4 to the right side. Appeared yesterday and it goes away after 15-20mins usage. Advice? Monitor was bought from Dell so excercising the CGA can be tricky and it is currently over 2yrs old. 24" Ultrasharp. Cheers |

| 1112705 | 2010-06-23 02:45:00 | DVI is connected. Direct cable - no converters. Don't have a HDMI thing. I have a VGA thou and a DVI VGA converter. The thing is if you open the LCD setting menus the line goes right thru it ...... |

| 1112706 | 2010-06-23 03:06:00 | Lines on an LCD indicate a bad internal connection to the LCD or a faulty driver. Noting that the line goes away after warm-up suggests the problem is more likely a dodgy connection which gets better as something warms up and expands Repair is possible but would be expensive. Since it's only 2 years old, you should be able to get a repair\replacement under CGA in my opinion. Otherwise sell it on Trademe, someone will probably want it for the PSU and processing board as spare parts (or who doesn't care about the line so much) |

Can't see that happening.........As long as he bought it via Dell's NZ site, then I'd be very surprised of Dell didn't still have obligations under the CGA - they are after all trading in New Zealand, and should therefore comply with NZ laws while doing so. | Erayd (23) | ||

Ah yes but trying to enforce that sort of thing can be a mission. Support your local PC hardware shop. |
