1112639 2010-06-22 23:15:00 When trying to click on a hyperlink in a mail message, I get a msg in a box with a white cross on a red circle on the left hand side saying: This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

This has suddenly appeared. Why and what can I do to fix it?

1112640 2010-06-22 23:23:00 Get this (support.microsoft.com). Did you update IE recently? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1112641 2010-06-23 00:38:00 Hi Speedy Nope didn't update IE recently....just have MS automatic updates. Have run that link you listed. Still the problems remained. Ran hijack this following running Spybot and removing Virtumonde.sdn. Posted the HJ log in separate thread. Cheers :) smurf (6545)
1112642 2010-06-23 00:52:00 Replied to the other post BTW. Hmm, did you try rebooting after you applied that fix? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1112643 2010-06-23 00:57:00 Nope will do after Malwarebytes finishes running..Thanks :) smurf (6545)
1112644 2010-06-23 01:01:00 As the fix modified the registry a reboot would have been in order. It may be fixed after a reboot. Sweep (90)
1112645 2010-06-23 01:04:00 Thanks Sweep...am about to do it now :) smurf (6545)
1112646 2010-06-23 02:55:00 Ahh found the problem and the solution:www.slipstick.com

It appears that the problem was a corrupted file in IE not Outlook. In my case it was probably caused by uninstalling Chrome. I followed the instructions and since, all is good :) Thanks for the help to get there :)

1112647 2010-06-23 02:57:00 BTW...my default browser is Firefox...and the solution first meant that Ii had to make IE the default browser and when the file was restored, change back to Firefox. smurf (6545)
