1112987 2010-07-23 04:41:00 What License did you pay for. It looks like your key was valid for Home and Student. When you installed it you installed the trial version of Professional.

If you want to keep using Outlook and Publisher, you need to pay for the upgrade to pro.

If you want to keep using Outlook and Publisher, you need to pay for the upgrade to pro . That's correct -- If you installed Home & Student 2007 then it will only upgrade the home and student . It will only upgrade the version it finds to the full versions .

The new Product key thats sent to you via email will select what version it installs . You do have the option to install the trials of the other various programs As shown here ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Office . PNG" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) -This may have happened if you used the default install option instead of the Custom, and didn't deselect the trials .

The size of the download is correct, 584MB is the complete package - as shown in the Picture above .

1112989 2010-07-23 05:53:00 Thanks guys, so the speil the wife was given when she bought the new pc in May with Office 2007 Student installed and told the upgrade to Office 2010 was free, did not include those two.

Well an expert IT man from Aussie is staying with the wife's friend who has the same software, has given the same explanation.

The last Office product we bought was 97 and it included them all, mind you it was pretty dear from memory.

Thanks again,

Lurking.

Ps. no wonder that let it apply over 3 machines, lol.

1112990 2010-07-23 05:58:00 in the past i've had the acadmic versions - publisher and outlook was provided. you needed a teriary id thou .. it had the std and the pro, not sure what std had thou. but both required student id's (tertiary).

you can get outlook and publisher for the real acadmic one "ultimate steal" be it 2007 or 2010. but you need a tertiary id.

perhaps the normal home version was diff at 1997 - was there a subsidised non-commercial home version

ps. academic (ultimate steal) is not the same to the home student version.
require tertiary id and downloaded only vs anyone can buy off the shelf provided it's non commercial. can be a mum and dad with career lives and can incl a chid at primary or secondary school.

1112993 2010-07-23 21:56:00 Lurking - "584mb seems lite for the whole package" = It's compressed files.

I've just downloaded 2010 Professional Academic and it gives you 2 licenses - 1 for a Lappy and 1 for a desktop - cost $99 inc Gin, Squash & Tonic. You must have a student e-mail address or qualify by other means to get this deal.

I was using a mixture of 2003 (outlook) & 2007 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint - both being Home & Student versions.

Installed without problems onto desktop ... Lappy's turn today.

Hope this helps.

1112994 2010-07-24 05:19:00 Hi SP8's, it's a bit like Open Varsity! retailers' will accept anyone as a Student nowadays, lol.

Office 2010 is on wifey's Win 7 machine and I think Word and Excel will be the only one's she will need.

I like Open Office myself and only use an older version of Excel for reports to WINZ. Yes even at 76 I still have to furnish returns, rofl.

thanks,

Lurking.

Reading the TOC, 2007 was diff. 2007 didn't allow you to install onto a PC and a laptop.
