That's because you're ineligible.

I bought an enterprise copy of 2007 earlier this year and am in the same boat.

It only cost me $10 as I work for a ministry. I bought a copy of 2010 today for my netbook and am hoping like hell that the two don't cancel each other out.

It's taking FOREVER to load though!!!

1112984 2010-06-25 12:22:00 For those people who do not have student I.D's or eligible for the HUP the best way to buy 2010 at the moment for home is to get a discounted Office 2007 Home and Student.

For example

www.playtech.co.nz

You have to buy and install it by the 30 September and can then download office 2010 for free. You can still install on up to 3 PC's at one time. The only downside is that Microsoft have included the trial of professional with the download so it is a bit bigger (585 MB) then it needs to be.

Home Student edition provides 3 licenses - for the household. The Ultimate Steal if you qualify gives you just 1 license even if you have a PC and a laptop. Nor can you buy 2 copies.

1112986 2010-07-23 04:06:00 For anyone who purchased & installed office 2007 within the upgrade period, (between March 5, 2010, and September 30, 2010) the upgrade download is now available from Microsoft Upgrade (office.microsoft.com).

You need to supply your Office product ID (not your product key) from the "About" on the installed Office 2007.

You are then forwarded on to create a Account if you don't already have a Windows Live one already.

You have the option of purchasing a backup CD for $21.03 ( not to sure what currency) then finally the download button, along with the NEW product key is supplied.

The download is 586MB in size.

Once the upgrade has been installed the older Product key that was used in Office 2007 is not invalid and legally cant be used.

Hi wainuitech, have done this on wife's pc.

She mainly uses Word and Excel.

The Outlook 2010 and Publisher 2010 on loading both ask to be upgraded to Office 2010 Professional??? see attach.

Thanks for any help.

Lurking.

Ps. 584mb seems lite for the whole package.

lurks.
