821873 2009-10-19 21:39:00 I have always questioned MS's policy of selling software to students very cheap.
It shows how much profit they make on each unit.
Could you imagine cars or pcs at half price for students ? or beer ?

The marginal cost of a copy of Windows is negligible. Quite unlike a car.

821874 2009-10-21 03:26:00 $3 is expensive. Very expensive, when you can download the same thing for free.

MSND-AA. Costs me nothing, the only thing I can't get out of it is office.

Software piracy is undependable, as far as I see it. You can get something on par or better, so why steal?
I fail to see the point at all.

I paid for Win 7, and may collect it tomorrow or whenever, but I am beginning to wonder if there was any point, I know I can depend on it (to fail), but one day I will have a stack of updates and it will still fail . Perhaps it is the challenge of wrestling with it and wondering if a virus could be any worse than WGA .

You could be right, maybe it's because it is undependable that people use pirated software, then again it might be the cost .
