821150 2009-10-16 21:02:00 I gravitate towards the product that suits my needs best, not the one some marketing division thinks they can convince me to buy in order for their shareholders to live in fancy houses. Metla (12)

x2 (I've seen the prices on Ascent - no thanks, too hard to justify spending that sort of moolah when there are so many more important things to buy)

821155 2009-10-16 23:06:00 Yep, I'm sticking with Vista 64 bit...for at least 6mths after 7's release. I love Vista & have never had a major problem with it.
Tried Win 7 RC on several machines - wasn't overly impressed.
And the money I save can buy even more RAM & another 1TB drive AND a bottle of whiskey ...yeh!!!

821156 2009-10-16 23:20:00 I'm sticking with Vista until I can afford an upgrade (not likely).
I still use XP, though do have Vista Ultimate on a separate partition. Have only spent about 20 mins in 6 months on Vista. So not likely to change to Win 7 for a long time yet. Now am retired must spend time learning Vista - silly for me to have and not use ! :groan:

It would be a big change for you pcuserwinvista as you would need to also change name to pcuserwin7 (shorter though !) ;)

Unfortunately in my case that isn't available and is not at all supported by makers of games and other 3rd party apps so I put up with Windows.

821159 2009-10-17 03:42:00 I'ma on Win7 32bit. It crashed a few days ago, and nothing would repair it. It stalled on the login and said I was missing files. Anyway, just reinstalled over it and grabbed everything from windows.old file.

Although I found Win7 not as memory consuming as Vista - of course - but I will still stick with Vista after I get sick of the RC or it expires. For those who don't have a mid-ranged PC or don't know how to tweak Vista, I can understand people wanting Win7. However, Vista is lovely. =3
