822517 2009-10-20 21:29:00 Hi team

With the impending legal consequences for using a hand-held cellphone while driving, I have decided to go back to hands-free, which I had many years ago with my prehistoric analogue Motorola fliptop.

My phone is a Samsung W531 and I'm looking at the BlueAnt S1 marketed by Telecom for around $150 +GST, which looks to be comprehensively featured and entirely suitable for my needs. However, I thought I'd ask the question here in case someone knows a better device, or has had problems with the S1.

The only thing I don't like is the sunvisor mounting, but I guess I can either live with that or find another place to put it.

Cheers

reminds me of the last ditch effort to stop section 59 from coming into effect and it worked. national may lose alot of votes over this because i can predict so many ppl being fined.

There is an opt out option of paying the fine and that is to obey the law.
National will gain votes because National voters are sensible people.
I had one of the first blueants the sound was a bit crappy.
I use the one in my gps at the moment.

you sure National will gain votes? have a look at this one news video of what the drivers had to say:

most people who drive probably own a cellphone and use it while driving. you think they are going to like having to spend at least $50 to get handsfree? alot of poor people out there.

822525 2009-10-27 03:06:00 The poor people don't vote for National. National stands for business, they generally vote for labor or they are too lazy to vote at all.
You would have to be **** for brains to deny talking on a handheld celly and driving can end badly.

822526 2009-10-27 03:57:00 My 2c worth:
My mother bought one for the car, she occasionally gets calls and in my parents line of work they do their best not to miss calls, they're usually important if they've come through to their Cell.

Her problem was as she gets out of the car and walks away, the Bluetooth visor-kit would turn itself off, so when she would come back from shopping etc it would require her to re-pair it each time, it wouldn't automatically. Is this likely the fault of the device or of the handset? I think she has a Vodafone 541, unsure of the bluetooth device.
