821413 2009-10-17 19:03:00 Hi Guys

I went to 2 degrees pre-paid soon after they started.
I am finding them much cheaper, as I think I have only bought 1 top up card.
Whereas when I was on Vodaphone I was buying one a month 1

How have you found it - cost wise.

821414 2009-10-17 19:32:00 Yes, cheaper. 22 cents compared to 89 cents on Vodafone prepay - 30 days after top up at 44 cents is still OK. 100 free texts or 9 cents after 30 days. Good coverage. But until 2 degrees offers something like Best Mates, I will keep my main phone with Vodafone. Strommer (42)
821415 2009-10-17 20:20:00 I've found it great, the lower cost compared to Vodafone means I've put my Vodafone sim card away for now.

Purchased my first top up the other day (my $5 free credit took a while to use up) and I think I've still got about $18 left on it (from a $20 top up).

821417 2009-10-17 22:01:00 Better coverage than Vodafone, txts sent faster, prices are great, so I transferred my old number across. Dragon switched too, and is also delighted with the fees, which is not easy for a thrifty wee wench to admit. Roll on the day they get 3g, and my spend with them will go up immediately. The Vodem is stretching my nasal passages. R2x1 (4628)
821418 2009-10-17 22:43:00 Yep. Cheaper. I get 100 free text and I think it is 22c calling landlines and other 2degree handsets.

I just rang Japan from my handset cos it was like 45 or 49c a minute. Might of been cheaper than my landline without a plan already established.

821419 2009-10-18 21:02:00 I really like the free texts you get after topping up. Have only topped up once, but still haven't started using the credit yet, since I'm still going through the free texts.

I've kept my vodafone card because some of my friends are on vodafone txt 2000. I got a sim card adaptor which lets you use 2 sim cards in 1 phone, so saves from having to keep two phones.

More info please. What phones will it work in?

821421 2009-10-18 23:54:00 It works in any phone that takes sim cards. I dont know if telecom XT sim cards work in vodafone mobiles and vice versa as I'm not on telecom. But if the two sim cards are swappable, I'm sure it would benefit a lot of people who keep a telecom and a vodafone mobile (eg one for work, one for private).

Only one sim card can be active at one time, but you can easily switch provider through a menu.

I was selling one on trademe, but one of my friends wanted to buy it off me first so I jacked up the price comically so my friend could have it (although I would have told my friend to sod off if someone paid the new higher price!):

There is more information there about how it works.

821422 2009-10-19 04:24:00 I'm finding it very very good. Only topped up once so far (a few days ago), after the free $5 and extra free $2.

9c vs. 20c txts = no brainer.
100 free texts make it sweeter.
44c/min (22c for me ATM for landlines) - now I sometimes even call people.

Still got the Voda SIM, but my phone is a dual-sim (has two, seperate, sim card slots, both are active at the same time).
