820843 2009-10-15 06:51:00 What sort of work experience? somebody (208)
820844 2009-10-15 06:57:00 IT, techie kind of stuff. Anything really. Love computers, love mucking around, love building pc's but would like to spend my Uni Holidays doing something kinda useful (Studying Japanese and Psychology, Interesting Combo , I know.) Instead of studying and get something down on my CV. Left for Uni a couple of years early so never really got around to much work as the olds covered everything. Want to work, but I don't want to apply with a blank CV. baabits (15242)
820845 2009-10-15 09:42:00 Well I would do more than work experience, just to put something on a CV

And it may take a while if someone decides to employ you. If you know nothing at all / have no experience (in IT / building PC's etc).

I would think that work experience may include unpaid or paid.

It would appear anyway that He/She can get out of bed and go do something I hope.

Well you're not going to get a job in something like IT just by doing work experience. You need experience. Not just 2 weeks or 2 mths of WE. Its a fact, get used to it

I did, actually. Start out by being in a helpdesk type role. Work your way up from there.

Yes, but Work Experience is somewhere to start, we all have to start somewhere. Even if it's unpaid, it's still experience, and I'm still doing something I love.

I know what I'm doing, but have no qualifications or Work Experience. After being humiliated through school (the geek/nerd label, etc) I decided to focus on languages (my other passion, now studying Japanese at Waikato) and refused to get involved in IT. Real world is now starting to set in...

I've asked around shops, but to no avail.. T_T
