1114670 2010-06-30 03:05:00 Hi,

I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 laptop, and everytime I leave standby or hibernate, the screen refuses to come on. However, I think the LCD backlight comes on, though. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

1114672 2010-06-30 03:40:00 Welcome to PressF1. I have a friend with a Tecra M3, we've never been able to get hibernate to work properly. I'd just ditch the hibernation, it was never much good in XP anyway. wratterus (105)

1114674 2010-06-30 23:51:00 I have used Hibernation on many many machines and have only had one of 3 problems.

1) Video drivers buggy causing crash
2) Video driver not installed preventing hibernation from working\A device is installed which has a driver that does not support standby or hibernation
3) BIOS setting regarding "Re-POST of VGA BIOS" needs to be changed to prevent crashes on resume.

Most of the time it works perfectly to begin with, or afterwards, when addressing these common issues.
