| 1114290 | 2010-06-28 22:57:00 | Hello, I have another one of those SD card errors. The card I've tried unlocking and locking from the side (people mentioned using a small piece of metal for switching it or taking it off? What if I screw it up? x.x) It seems to click loudly when I slide it up or down completely, so I believe it's not broken... Here is the error screen shots from photo rescue. img.photobucket.com I've tried putting the card into my camera and using a usb wire... Putting it in a card reader and using a usb and opening... Putting it into my sd card slot on the pc... And putting it in my camera reader via my printer/scanner. =\ Errors: ---The pc reads "no pictures" and shows 0GB. ---The camera reads: Card Locked. And has no function on the camera itself to unlock it (I DONT think)- the images do not show. I believe the problem happened either when we dropped the camera, or accidentally took a video. That, or perhaps normal wear on the card itself. Also- would the camera still be safe to use with a new card or if it's fixed? Thanks, the main problem right now is getting the photos off my card! Aah! I believe i've been using this same card for the past two-four years. My camera is a Power Shot A580 and the card is a Sandisk 2.0 GB SD. Thank you! |

| 1114293 | 2010-06-28 23:16:00 | All those read errors, and the fact that the rescue tool is showing the card as 2199GB, doesn't give me much hope :( These people seem to have some suggestions of software you could try: www.pentaxforums.com |

| 1114295 | 2010-06-29 01:25:00 | I just got an update. I've been using Zero Assumptions Digital Image Recovery and got a Trojan detection of the "Fakepic gen". I will further update if this was the problem. | EnergyLiger (15852) | ||

There is a place where it shows how to fix the metal bar in the USB reader slot, however, I can not open my camera to view it so well. Can someone explain in detail how to fix that- since I believe its the camera just saying 'it is locked'...? As in, i'm not sure which piece to move specifically, etc. |
