1113734 2010-06-26 12:13:00 Yeah in Virtualbox, worked fine, but nothing quite as awesome as having it on your phone :D Chilling_Silence (9)
1113735 2010-06-26 22:25:00 I have bought one of these gadgets

www.ekengroup.com

But the power switch stopped responding after a couple of days.
I have sent it back for replacement but thought if I could get Android to run on one of my PC's then I could get familiar with the OS.
I managed to create a live cd last night & got it to run but it is a bit different using a mouse & keyboard. I wonder if the virtual would be more like it is on the aPad. Also the version you get to play with is different, or hasn't got as many apps as the one on the aPad. I tryed to log on to the AndAppStore but couldn't work out how to enter my email address as the the keyboard won't respond to upper case.

1113736 2010-06-27 01:33:00 Yeah to be honest it's completely different feel using it on a phone / MID compared with using it on a laptop / virtualPC.

Still cool though but yeah, bit different using a mouse / keyboard compared with your finger.

1113737 2010-06-27 06:27:00 Guess I'll just have to wait for the replacement to arrive.
Hope it last longer than the last one.

1113740 2010-06-27 12:09:00 Considering my iPhone had to be replaced (GPS faulty), and the recent trouble Apple have run into with their signal strength of the iPhone4 amongst other things, I think that's pretty unjustified ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

The thread was about android not apple. Apple have their faults which we can discuss in an apple thread:blush:

1113742 2010-06-27 21:08:00 Yes Android is a bit different, I believe it's a derivitive of Linux.
I intend to get a Apple iPad when the price drops to a resonable level.
I just bought one of these cheapies in the mean time.
I actually started out looking for a eReader, but they are not cheap either.
