823804 2009-10-24 21:53:00 I said I wouldn't but I did.
I refer to Alley Cad a CAD program that was mentioned in a thread some time ago.
I said then that I wouldn't look at it - I had got a bit fed up looking at various drafting programs that promised everything but failed to do so.
Some are quite impressive in some areas but fail overall.
Especially if we are considering usage by the amateur.

No program that cannot use symbols easily and effectively is worth considering in my book.
Well as nobody else seemed to be keen to look at and report on the program I decided I would give it a go.
But I ran into trouble with symbols - the writers of the program do not seem to be able to understand the concept. I didn't manage to use them at all and wonder if I am missing something. Yes I tried the Help files - as so often the case they were not of any help - just got me more confused.
So is it me?
Perhaps others managed to get it up and working effectively.
If so please let us know what you found.
Tom
