1114131 2010-06-30 12:24:00 i need to burn (in a fire or some form of flames) our old nortons systemworks 2001 cd. i can't believe we ran nortons on our first pc (i think the thing only has like 32mb ram, i can't remember, it was 1999 when we got it, but its long gone now) goodiesguy (15316)
1114132 2010-06-30 13:31:00 Systemworks is OK, the Norton Un-Delete utility is one of the two Symantec programs I actually use. The other being Norton Ghost 2003.

The real problem is Norton AntiVirus.

1114133 2010-06-30 14:01:00 i quite like the nortons ghost. i installed systemworks 2001 (minus antivirus) on an old pc for my mum to play games on (jewel quest etc..) that my dad don't want on his pc. the pc is a bit slow but it goes ok considering its only 133mhz processor or something, i upgraded it to 128mb ram and it goes good. someone had nortons server version on it so i get an error come up when it gets to the desktop. goodiesguy (15316)
1114134 2010-06-30 21:22:00 :stare: wot?? you need to get it. i have all from april 2008 onwards. i also have the 06/07 celebrating 200 issues mag and the dec 07/jan08 mag too. the 20 years mag was good

Since 2004 here...however I throw out old ones every couple of years!

1114135 2010-06-30 21:27:00 A cheap case is fine as long as it's got good cooling, even if it doesn't, you can always modify it ;)

My case is cheap, but I cut a few holes out, added some extra fans, it works great.

Of course, that Coolermaster is a good choice anyway...

hehe, my case doesnt heat up at all, the wind tunnell runs from from to back and the GPU isnt a very hot one and has dedicated exhaust fan anyway....

I personally like upside down motherboard cases as that allows you to segregate the various areas of the pc into chambers, Lian li and Silverstone both use these methods.

1114138 2010-06-30 22:05:00 i need to burn (in a fire or some form of flames) our old nortons systemworks 2001 cd. i can't believe we ran nortons on our first pc (i think the thing only has like 32mb ram, i can't remember, it was 1999 when we got it, but its long gone now)

those days were cool. my regret was maybe buying more than i should of even used. should of left win95 on it than going to 98, both not stable imo until we hit win2k and i had no usb devices. i also loaded up my system cos it was cool - latest windows and updates and systemworks, i mean hey it had crashguard :D parallel port cdrw was crap. portable inkjet was crap too, should of got a small footprint laser.

parallel port external cdrom didn't play VCD that great ...

1114139 2010-07-01 02:23:00 i have an old parallell port external cd drive which came with an old Toshiba sattelite (first one from like 1996 with floppy drive, windows 95, 16mb ram). unfortunutly, my dog peed on that laptop and it got to the ram. i ended up throwing it out, i loved that laptop.

my first laptop though was given to me by my neighbour in 2005. it was an old cannon, 4mb ram, black and white screen, windows 3.11, built in black and white printer underneath keyboard.
unfortunitly i did not have experience with 3.11 and tried the change the colors from 16 to 256, i could not see the operating system cause of this. i though it was broken so i took it out back and it got the hammer to it. i regret that badly
