Yeah especially in NZ, its *far* too small a country, 2degrees is about right! Definitely worth nuking an IT-guys access prior to anything being mentioned to him about redundancy, heck even for myself I must admit there's always that temptation there for revenge. Darn religious morales keep me from doing it :p |

Everything should be checked and reviewed by a second person, at least so if one person is sick, everything can still run smoothly. |

But at the end of the day, he too should have acted professionally. Look, the guy was refused his severance package, now he had two options: 1) have some pretty revenge and piss everyone off for a few days, maybe lose them some money, ruin his own professional reputation, lose his integrity, and open himself to a lawsuit which could have ruined his life. 2) Take them to court for unfair dismissal and get a lot more out of them, while maintaining his integrity. If the world revolved on people getting pissy and screwing the guy next to them, we'd have killed each other by now. Sure, all of us have had an urge to go and do something nasty to someone, but we don't do it (because of moral implications, for some) but because we consider ramifications of our actions and because in general we aren't psychotic ******* who act on impulse. It's just like saying: Johnny hurt my feelings, if I can kill him and get away with it, all's good. And you saying, well Johnny deserved it. I think it's safe to say that we have all hurt/pissed off someone in our lifetimes, does that give them the right to come round and try to ruin your lively hood? |

As far as a small industry where everyone knows everyone I don't buy into it. If that was true they would know the reason he was fired because his boss was a numbnuts. I once got fired for standing up to a boss who was screaming and yelling at someone who didnt deserve it. I got a job at his opposition with the customer list in my head and hatred in my heart we caused devastation at his company. |

| 824265 | 2009-10-26 21:45:00 | Yeah unfortunately stories like this don't always list 100% of the facts. When I left my last place of employment, I could have done them over in court for thousands and thousands, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, loads of other things... to be honest I had no cash to take them to court (Lawyer) and it was simply easier to move on and forgo the riches :-/ | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
| 824266 | 2009-10-26 23:05:00 | When people lose their jobs they are always angry. That's no excuse to do something like this. You do it the legitimate way by taking them to court. Pretty much any one who worked for any company can screw them over in one fashion or another. Doesn't mean you drop yourself to their level. Have some dignity and self respect bro. That doesnt quite rub with your Evil Super Villian tag...LOL, oh and remember they couldnt prove anything as any scripts got eaten with the rebuild! |
