That's enough to make anyone angry. Put yourself in the position of the cyclist (a.k.a. a pedestrian on two wheels). BTW - regarding the lycra that everyone seems to get so upset about. It is not worn for the benefit of an audience, it is worn because it is comfortable (and makes my bum look good) :D Sorry I can't support that. Cyclists are a menace to society as far as I am concerned. A bunch who do not pay ACC levies like anyone else, they nothing but traffic problems and act like the world should bow down to them. Sorry, but that is the sad reality. I am sure you guys cost us more than motorcyclists, and yet you pay nothing for it. Do you guys have any idea how hard you are to see in central traffic? Weaving around like maniacs in grid lock traffic... I am sure it's even harder on bus drivers. I've seen people who ride properly and they are a decent bunch, but there are more than a few who ride like they are kings of the street, they are the problem. |

Thats the key point. The ones that dont go ducking and diving , usually without even looking are the ones that cause problems. I dont know how many times I have had to hit the brakes because some idiot decides to suddenly dart across in front of you with out even looking, then you get filthy looks as if to say it your fault. |

I think I already pay more than my fair share! The ACC levy argument is a silly one anyway (ask any motorcyclist) - I think you will find that rugby accounts for far greater proportion of payouts than cycling, but I don't hear any calls for rugby to be banned or for all the other players of sports to pay their own ACC levies. There are idiots riding bikes as well as idiots driving motorised vehicles - and there are more motorised vehicles on the road (by simple arithmetic that makes more idiots behind the wheel than riding two wheels).... |

Yeah, exactly. No matter what happens if it involves cyclists it's always the motorist's fault. And I will assume that those are a minority. I wonder whether any of the anti-cycling PF1 members are to blame for this: www.stuff.co.nz Anyone here own a white ute? That's a pretty pathetic thing to say. I completely agree, but surely cycling is a choice and as a choice they must also somehow contribute to the roads you use, no? |

| 823632 | 2009-10-25 02:33:00 | Happy to contribute (yet more of my hard-earned dollars!!!), so long as ALL sports are put on the same footing (paying their ACC "share"), as well as joggers, dog-walkers, and hitch-hikers and pedestrians (who also use the road at "no cost"). | johcar (6283) | ||
| 823633 | 2009-10-25 04:47:00 | Yep and the morons who don't pay to drive their vehicles on the road there are plenty of them out there too | gary67 (56) | ||
