1115460 2010-07-02 21:52:00 No, Vista and Win7 needs Office 2003.

Office 2000 will run on WinXP I think. I still have a P3 lappie with Office/Win 2k. :D Great investment - used almost daily

Seems like there is a workaround ...

1115463 2010-07-04 05:15:00 Thanks for the replies folks. Looks as though I may be investing in 7 for this old XP machine, some day, after all !! DUNK (1527)
1115464 2010-07-04 05:27:00 Office 2000, any version, is officially uncompatible with Windows 7...32 bit or 64 bit. The Oldest Office that is fully compatible with Windows 7 is Office 2003.

That said, you may very well get Office to load and at least partially run, although I seem to remember people having lots of problems loading Office 2000 on a 64 bit machine.

If you get it to load, the biggest, but not likely the only, problem will be with Outlook. Outlook versions prior to Outlook 2003 will not save logon credentials with either Vista or Windows 7.

1115465 2010-07-04 12:38:00 Oh dear. Now I'm frightened..... Can't afford both "7" & a new "Office Suite" Guess that I'll just 'clunk on' with "XP" Ah well, at least I'm fairly familiar with it. Pity that it's only "Home" though. I believe that they're supporting "Pro" for just a wee bit longer !!
Thank you. And.
Regards to all.
Bryan.

1115466 2010-07-04 22:37:00 How old's your XP PC? If it's more than about 3 years old, stick with XP - it'll be much much faster and will run Office 2000 jwil1 (65)
1115467 2010-07-04 22:40:00 We had Windows 7 Pro on one of our laptops and running Office 2000 quite happily. No issue's at all. PinoyKiw (9675)
