| 1115454 | 2010-07-02 14:59:00 | Hey guys, I am trying to setup QoS on this mode/router.... I've done this before on a Billion modem/router but the terminology used in the D Link is like completely alien to me. Was wondering if anyone can help? Trying to make its so that another computer on my network has less bandwidth usage than the main computer... basically limiting the download/upload speed of another computer on the network so that it is not hogging all the bandwith (cause it uses P2P). Basically when I go into my modem/router I have the many menus... but the ones that I need I think are Quality of Service Queue Config Quality Classification In these menus not sure what I should enter... all the fields has terms that are completely alien to me :( You guys done this before on 2730B modem? |

To be honest I wouldn't bother with the QoS on the likes of those D-Links, I've found it terribly, terribly unreliable and it's honestly not worth the hassle, because it does jack all ... You'd need another make / model router to do per-device throttling effectively at the router level, something like the Linksys WRT54GL running Tomato |
