| 1115349 | 2010-07-02 06:11:00 | Disable system restore first. It maybe similar to this (www.symantec.com) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1115350 | 2010-07-02 06:12:00 | Try downloading Microsoft Security Essentials, update & scan - turn off zonealarm & system restore. www.microsoft.com Malwarebytes ..... http://www.malwarebytes.org/ I think zonealarm might be a bit old and outdated ... MSSE has had some extremely good reviews and you can have a read of the thread on the top of F1 forum page. Others may have alternatives, but I find Spybot useful as well ... www.safer-networking.org CCleaner www.piriform.com ...will remove all your temp files and check for registry errors. Use CCleaner to get rid of the rubbish first ... makes the scans quicker. |

| 1115352 | 2010-07-02 06:31:00 | If you're running Avast AND Zonealarm ... they may conflict | SP8's (9836) | ||

| 1115355 | 2010-07-02 10:29:00 | If you're running Avast AND Zonealarm ... they may conflict :thumbs: Good advise. You cant have two anti-virus programs on the PC at the same time -- the way they work each will think the other is a virus, and either one or both will end up killing one another. Have seen it hundreds of times where this has happened, the person thinks the AV is working when in fact its not. As suggested before by SP8's - MSSE is the better of the free AV's, its even better than Avast (which has slipped quite a bit) Run MSSE in full scan mode. Rip out Zone alarm, its about as much good as a paper bag in a storm-- go to This site (www.freewaregeeks.com) down the bottom left , download and run the removal tool. Just today I collected a Persons PC, has ZA in it -- and its VERY obvious it riddled with infections. |
