2010-07-02 01:44:00 | Hi team, I have an issue where a user cannot open tasks from the To-Do-Bar in MS Outlook 2007. When the user clicks on the task in the To-Do-Bar it says "Cannot open Item" If you go directly to the Tasks pane in Outlook there are no issues opening the tasks. I have tried the following without success 1) run the following "outlook.exe /resettoolbar 2) did a repair of MS Office 2007 3) uninstalled and re-installed MS Office 2007 and Office 2007 SP2 4) re-created a new Outlook profile 5) re-created a new Windows profile Tasks will open from the To-Do-Bar if you run the following "Outlook.exe" /safe but this isn't a solution as safe mode disables out Microsoft CRM implementation which this user needs to have running. I'm still trawling through Google but haven't had any luck yet. Does anyone have any idea on a fix. System Specs: HP/Compaq 6710b Core2Duo CPU 3GB RAM 160GB HDD Windows XP Pro SP3 Internet Explorer 7 MS Office 2007 Professional Plus with SP2 Thanks, in advance.

Outlook will start, say “Loading” in the task pane for a few minutes, and then everything works again. According to the Outlook 2007 command line switches documentation, /resettodobar “Clears and regenerates the To-Do Bar task list for the current profile. The To-Do Bar search folder is deleted and re-created.” |

2010-07-03 10:59:00 | Yes this is issue is about 2 weeks old. Only major recent change was the installation of MS Office Communicator 2007 R2 with CUCIMOC integration. We have had users with the same issue but it "fixed" itself but I don't know how this came about. This is the longest the issue has been unresolved compared to 4 other users who had the exact same issue. All users have the same model and spec laptop built the the same base CAS image which includes Win XP Pro SP3 and MS Office 2007 Pro Plus SP2. Quite unusual... I'm not keen to do a complate re-install unless its the last resort. Thanks,

2010-07-03 22:04:00 | Yep that was my next step... though a dreaded one. The CUCIMOC integration is a bugger to setup due to pre-reqs etc but it may be the thing causing the issue. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks,

2010-07-05 07:33:00 | Removing MS Communicator did not resolve the issue. I logged in as the user on a different laptop and everything worked fine. So that would lead me to believe there is an issue with the user's original laptop. Looks like I may have to re-deploy the OS and applications from scratch. Dammit! I was hoping to avoid that. Thanks for the help... please feel free to make any suggestions. Cheers,
