1115136 2010-07-01 22:27:00 A mate bought a new PC a while ago from Noel Leeming and it came with a $40 or so update option from Vista to Win7.

However, he didn’t exercise that option at the time and has lived to regret it.

So the question is: Is he still able to take up the offer, or was there an expiry date on the offer?
:thanks

1115140 2010-07-02 03:09:00 Win 7 is just a new theme on top of Vista and had loads of marketing to make the masses think it's magically better. Vista SP2 is very stable and fast. I have no idea why so many people moan about it, I think they're just misinformed due to the media harping on about some issues in the early days of Vista that got resolved with SP1. Orca (3098)

Disagree. They are different.

Nothing revolutionary in the way of new features there. Also performance is on par or slightly better than Vista.

1115144 2010-07-02 07:17:00 Well both have 1 thing in common. UAC. Its just as bad in Win7. So, I found out. It doesnt matter what you put it on. It can cause access denied errors. One reason why I killed it on both. I found nothing wrong with Vista x64. It was pretty smooth. Too bad this tuner doesnt work in Vista's media centre. Otherwise, I'll still be using it Speedy Gonzales (78)
