2010-07-01 16:21:00 | I had a power outage last night and when I turned the computer back on this morning, it says that error . "Disk Boot Failure - Insert system disk and press enter" I do not have a working CD drive in the computer so I hope that doesn't have anything to do with it . Thanks for the help! Melanie

2010-07-01 20:57:00 | It means the PC can't find the operating system. The O/S is on the hard drive. Go into the BIOS and see if it can see the hard drive, if it can't, it's probably fried. If it can, Windows has been damaged. Which version of WIndows is it? | pctek (84) | |

2010-07-01 22:19:00 | And of course, if your pc is as old as mine is, make sure there aren't any occupied floppy or cd drives. | 8ftmetalhaed (14526) | |
2010-07-01 22:28:00 | Right HDD selected and settings in bios? It can happen if you convert a RAID back to Std SATA thru the Configuration Manager but don't change the bios settings. | Nomad (952) | |
2010-07-02 03:47:00 | Thanks to everyone for giving me all of this advice, however, I now think I have bigger problems... while I was waiting for responses to this post I changed the boot order in BIOS and still nothing; same error message. Then, I went back to researching from my laptop and the computer just shut off. It never came back on, so now I'm thinking power supply went out, do you think? Please give me additional advice if you have any. Thanks again, Melanie

2010-07-02 05:07:00 | Does it power back up when you hit the power switch? If not, remove power cable from PC and while disconnected, hit the power button. Re-plug power cable and try to power up again. If no go, your P/S could be faulty.... | GR8Metal (14133) | |
