2009-10-27 23:21:00 Prices look better at Ascent www.ascent.co.nz Lawrence (2987)
2009-10-27 23:37:00 I notice that looking at Ascent that the OEM versions are either 32 or 64bit but the normal upgrade and retail versions contain both. This correct?? paulw (1826)
2009-10-27 23:45:00 According to some sites, yup, Win7 includes 32 and 64 bit. And the key is for either. You had the same option with Vista. It must check out your system (to see if it supports 32 or 64 bit), then installs whatever version Speedy Gonzales (78)
2009-10-28 01:23:00 As far as I am aware, if you have a 32bit Vista system, you can't 'upgrade' to a 64bit Win7 system. It has to be a complete reinstall, from scratch... johcar (6283)
2009-10-28 01:34:00 Youre right there. People found out the hard way. It looks like thats what happened overseas. Some people upgraded from 32 to 64 bit. And went round in circles. An ISO they downloaded from digitalriver, made things worse. Speedy Gonzales (78)
2009-10-28 02:33:00 I wonder if Vista will get sold el cheapo there must a fair few copies stuck in retailers. prefect (6291)
2009-10-28 02:56:00 Probably not. XP was selling at full price with Vista. MS would just recall them all and dump them. They can afford too, but probably not.
