And if that condemns me to hell, So be it, Heaven sounds like crap. There was no Tree, Garden of Eden,Apple,Ark,Tablet, virgin births, walking on water, bread into wine, smoting, parting of seas and no son of God walking the earth. Its stories made up to explain the world around them, and then used to control the people around them. |

Its prophesies, archeology and historical writings show that the bible is a cohesive and reputable record of mankind's origins and our future. As well as being a guide to life. Also interesting is certain scripture such as that mentioned in the herald article which can easily be taken out of context. Some scripture has application only for that time, where other scripture can have a more generic meaning not just applicable to the people of the day in which it was written. The "first offering" was appropriate (as briefly mentioned in the Herald) due to the fact the priests of the day had no land, they weren't given money from their job weekly as people today are, quite different from the context in which it has been applied at Destiny. Best explanation I heard was that he was a mob leader / gangster, and still is today, just his followers give him even more money now instead, and his leadership role is supposedly public acceptable. |

Can't see in that respect why this one is any worse than all the other ones. Latter Day Saints was formed by a convicted conman and Scientology was formed by a science fiction writer, they realised there was a buck to be made out of starting a religion. Generally if the leader isn't completely crazy, they go on to be respectable after a thousand years or so. | Twelvevolts (5457) | ||
