1116212 2010-07-05 10:38:00 Where's the best place to get a Cheap Computer/Laptop/Netbook preferably new or refurbished. (Don't tell me to check trademe).

If it was a laptop or netbook I be happy with any this/above specs:
1 Ghz
512 RAM
40 GB HD

If it were a desktop i'd be happy with:
2.5ghz (Preferably Intel)
1gb RAM
80 GB HD
No OS

I'm looking for something under $599. Any ideas?

1116214 2010-07-05 10:57:00 Is it just for you, or is it for a club or charity?

Both new & refurb will come with OS (and charge you for it) unless you buy parts & build it yourself. Your budget will almost get you enough new parts to build a whole PC

1116216 2010-07-05 11:07:00 Check firstin.co.nz each day - they're always selling refurbished lappies at pretty smart prices; it's older tech (C2D processors instead of Core i-whatever), but still worth considering. nofam (9009)

1116218 2010-07-05 13:12:00 PB Tech always has some desktops/laptops advertised that would meet your specs and price. They are refurbished or ex-lease so if you're comfortable with that, go ask them beeswax34 (63)
