| 1115981 | 2010-07-12 09:33:00 | That PSU is cheaper than my Enermax, which is only 625 Watts Never heard of that brand before and can't find any reviews either, it's probably a piece of junk. |

| 1115983 | 2010-07-12 11:44:00 | The people in this thread seem to think they are pretty bad . . evga . com/forumsarchive/tm . asp?m=100888843" target="_blank">www . evga . com It's Xion, don't buy it . For crying out loud it doesn't even have an active PFC! Just say no to that thing . Don't get that PSU - stick to good companies like OCZ, Corsair and PC Power and Cooling . XION is junk, plain and simple . It's funny the people that say they have a 1000W XION PSU and say how well it has performed for them and that everyone should go out and buy one . . . . . . and they are running 2 hard drives a mildly overclocked CPU and a single GPU . Sure if you don't stress anything they will most likely last but then why buy a 1000W PSU? Take it or leave it, but the insanely low price should say it all really . |

| 1115984 | 2010-07-14 01:04:00 | Only funny part about peoples ummm opinions is that they can say this now, but how does every company start off. I believe on the bottom. The reviews tell me a lot and to me that's very important. There's a lot of people that say Dells are awesome and they suck, people swear by AVG but are idiots cause that's like a flippen screen door on a submarine. Its people being loyal to one brand well how about a few years ago with cooler master people didn't like them but now a lot of people recommend them. Its a 1000 watt power supply and is at 85% efficient, its way more then Ill ever need. | jcraw (15870) | ||
| 1115985 | 2010-07-14 01:08:00 | ...and it's a cheap piece of crap. The PSU is the only component in the PC that's connected to everything...if it blows there's the potential there for serious damage. Get something decent. If you're shopping at NewEgg why not get one of these? www.newegg.com www.newegg.com www.newegg.com |

No, A decent company will invest a lot of money in R&D and testing etc to ensure that its products are good from day one . They won't release the product until they know it's good . Starting out with crap from day one and then trying to get better just gives you a bad name from day one, and that is not good if you want to give customers a good impression . That does not mean that a company can't go from bad to good . If Coolermaster has indeed increased their quality recently it may be they realised that if they didn't start getting some decent products out the door, people would buy something else . Even so, a quick look at some Coolermaster PSU reviews turns up that most of them aren't very good: Coolermaster GX-750 ( . jonnyguru . com/modules . php?name=NDReviews&op=Story3&reid=188" target="_blank">www . jonnyguru . com) Couldn't run the 750 Watts it was rated for, and ripple was out of ATX specification on anything over a 435 Watt load, which is pretty pathetic CM eXtreme Power Plus 600 Watt ( . hardwaresecrets . com/article/Cooler-Master-eXtreme-Power-Plus-600-W-Power-Supply-Review/1034/7" target="_blank">www . hardwaresecrets . com) Couldn't supply 600 watts (main switching transistor burnt out), voltage regulation was out of specification on loads over 450 Watts, 600 watt rating is lies . Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800 ( . hardwaresecrets . com/article/Cooler-Master-Silent-Pro-Gold-800-W-Power-Supply-Review/1028/7" target="_blank">www . hardwaresecrets . com) -12v rail out of specification, +12v rail almost out of specification . I could go on but hopefully you get the idea . A decent PSU will have no problems supplying what is written on the label, and will keep ripple within the ATX specifications (usually a lot lower) and use high grade components as well for long life . |

Dells have there place, just not in any enthusiasts homes . I would never buy one but for someone like my nana they're fine . But I wouldnt let her use one either :illogical The rating of a PSU doesnt mean everything, My enermax has been proven to be fine past its rated wattage, not that it will need to . And with lots of $ of hardware running off it id want peace of mind knowing that its more likely I drop my computer off a cliff than it dying on its own . Worth spending the extra $ on it, even if it seems unnecessary to you . Try googling some rubbish PSU "brands" and you might understand where we're coming from |

Their idea of an upgrade means you throw it away and get a new one. Sure Dell do XPS series for gaming but I'm fairly sure a custom build would be cheaper and better. |
