2010-07-08 01:58:00 | Put in half an effort, but I've never done one exactly as per their specs. Normally get 3 bits of foam and cut a HDD sized hole in the middle one, then cut it to size to fit in whatever box you have. | wratterus (105) | |
2010-07-12 08:06:00 | I think the enclosure is the issue. Tried with another IDE drive. No go. Anyone have a 3.5" IDE > USB enclosure they don't want?

I've a heck load of bubbly wrap and no rubber foam I think Computer Lounge were doing RMAs for C1. But I'd just send to Seagate, that's what I'll have to do with any I got from Morningstar. Nope, you don't need to be quite as picky as Seagate says, the main thing is an anti-static bag, then lots of shock proof packaging. Can be that foam stuff or bubblewrap (lots) or something similar, but the idea is to use sufficient they aren't going to fuss about it perhaps being banged around. I sent one once with the bag and foam and they accepted it. |

2010-07-12 09:46:00 | Who do I contact to get it replaced under warranty. Seagates site lists VST Ltd and they won't handle the drive (no longer a distributer). They suggest Ingram Micro. Thoughts, ideas??? ingram micro will give you a major run around because "it wasnt sold by us" and send you any where VERY VERY BAD company to do business with.

2010-07-12 09:57:00 | ingram micro will give you a major run around because "it wasnt sold by us" I don't see anything wrong with their stance . They have no obligation to spend money on faulty products you bought from someone else just because they are a wholesaler for that brand . I prefer to deal with Dove or Exeed, but Ingram Micro isn't that bad .
