826502 2009-11-02 19:08:00 I find that with XP, that after first installing it, it is very quick at loading. However after, after installing all the updates and service packs, the loading time slows a lot. I suspect the same thing will happen to 7 overtime. 7 hasn't had many security updates yet, and has still got service packs to come.

There's always slipstreaming. ;)

826503 2009-11-02 19:13:00 Never turn off my PC, All forms of hibernation are disabled. I want to be using that PC the very second I plant my backside in the seat.

Thats why firefox pisses me off, every time i am in a hurry to view something "installing new updates" :groan:

826505 2009-11-03 03:16:00 I honestly believe XP does slows down a lot faster with apps installed over Win7. As for Vista, well its not a real OS anyway :P . Ubuntu was always going to win.

Win7 "fully" boots in 18 seconds on my SSD rig with anti virus installed etc.

I'm pretty happy with vista ultimate, compared to XP pro. win 7 is just vista fixed and optimised, and it not much more than a major service pack. That is why I think vista users should have been given a cheaper upgrade version than xp users, and ultimate users should have got a free upgrade, as we were never given the 'extras' that microsoft advertised. In the US, microsoft gave away very cheap copies of win 7, to those who preordered but not in NZ. Also NZs launch of win 7 was very poor and cheap, compared toother countries. Shows how much MS care about NZ

826508 2009-11-03 04:50:00 Well yer Win7 does have some good "added" features. But, I may go back to Vista x64. It just doesnt like this tuner (well the program you use with it). It can freeze. And recorded videos are out of sync. But, its fine in Vista x64.

MS leave us out of everything lol..Netflix, using codes for Xbox games (that come with the games). Whats the point in putting them in with the game, when they dont work / apply in NZ
