1116188 2010-07-05 08:10:00 When I send a new email I have a choice of the signatures I created. But when I reply to an email I do not get offered the same choice. How can I change this setting? dveitch (6045)

1116190 2010-07-05 08:38:00 Have a look at this:-

windows.microsoft.com

Especially add sigs to all messages.

1116191 2010-07-05 09:23:00 Thanks, Sweep. The setup is as described and it works well for new outgoing email thus:

Use signatures only on specific messages

If you want to manually choose when to include a signature in your message, ensure that the Add signatures to all outgoing messages check box is cleared. Then, when you want to add a signature to a specific message, click the Insert menu in the message window, point to Signature, and then click the signature you want to use.

But that does NOT work when replying to an incoming email. When the reply function is used and the user clicks the Insert menu in the message window and points to Signature the default signature is added to the email. The option of selecting from the array of signatures is not there.

I don't use Live Mail and use Outlook 2010 instead so I can't test here.

But by reading through the link I supplied it appears to me that you have the add to all outgoing box checked to do what you want. I could be wrong though.

1116193 2010-07-05 09:55:00 Thanks, Sweep. Yes, you are wrong. That box is not checked and a signature is selected for each new outgoing mail. There is no option to select a signature for a "reply" - that message can be given only the default signature when the process is Insert/Signature dveitch (6045)
1116194 2010-07-05 10:02:00 Oh well. It might just be a limitation in Live Mail and it can't be done. Or not as the case may be. Sweep (90)
1116195 2010-07-06 02:36:00 I am using Thunderbird, I manage to figure out this by the following way
1: set up two email accounts
2: set up separate outgoing email servers for both email accounts (pls note, although outgoing email server has different descriptions, but we use the send mail address for them)
3: set different signatures for both email accounts
4: the last step, when click "reply", a new window pop up, then choose the sender from the drop down menu(actually, whatever you choice, you still use the same outgoing mail server),
that way, you are free to shift the signatures

1116196 2010-07-06 02:40:00 I am not sure if there are similar setting in live mail, I hope this can give you a thread. _galaxy (15847)
1116197 2010-07-07 08:21:00 Do you have web mail access, I find a add-on at addons.mozilla.org it claim this gadget can empower your webmail signatures in Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL and it support multiple signatures, I haven't tried, I post it here in case you have an interest in it. _galaxy (15847)
