1115774 2010-07-04 08:23:00 I have an ASUS laptop and I have a bios password when starting up. I was working online and doing some photo editing when I the internet page came up link broken. I closed and reopened chrome several times but each time it came up link broken. I rebooted my router but the same came up so I rebooted by laptop. However now it will not accept my bios password.
Can anyone tell me what happened and how to reset my bios password.
Thanks

1115776 2010-07-04 08:34:00 Chances are you can't reset the BIOS password without getting passed the BIOS password prompt, they are there for a reason. (Desktops are easy). You may need to contact ASUS and go through a bunch of stuff to prove its not stolen. gcarmich (10068)
1115777 2010-07-04 08:41:00 Being a Laptop , you will have to disassemble it to remove the CMOS Battery.

You can try This software (www.geckoandfly.com) (method 2) -- Burn the ISO file to a CD and see if it works (never tried it so its pot luck)

1115778 2010-07-04 08:46:00 Removing the CMOS Battery in modern laptops doesn't normally work. The BIOS password in laptops is more secure than in desktops for the simple reason more laptops get stolen. gcarmich (10068)

And the more chances you locked up yourself.:D
