1117373 2010-07-09 07:11:00 A friend's printer/scanner(EpsonstylusCX3900) won't switch on. I've checked the power lead and thats OK. I suspect that even if the problem is a duff On/Off switch its probably cheaper to buy a new machine than get the faulty one repaired.
Any thoughts?

1117375 2010-07-09 07:22:00 If it was my machine I would open it up if only to see whether the switch is replaceable but since its a friends..... martynz (5445)
1117376 2010-07-09 07:45:00 The fault could be in the DC output voltages... Fixable yes. Worth it no. radium (8645)
1117377 2010-07-09 08:06:00 Most likely it's a single faulty component with value of $2 or less

The problem is working out which one...

1117378 2010-07-09 09:09:00 you can get a printer for as less as $49. or a multi function unit for under $100 that can do proper photo printing. Nomad (952)
