My friends at Telecon, regret to inform me that they have to change my Xtra account from Big Time to Pro Broadband. This now means that I can pay $20 more for the huge amount of data that 40 gigs...Lucky lucky me ... time for a new ISP,I think.

So where to go ?

IMHO, Slingshot - $49.95 per month (plus $47 for phone) gets you 25Gb, unlimited cap between 2am - 8am, and the ability to bank any extra cap you buy (and extra 5Gb for $10 for example) over into the next month if you don't use it all.

Vodafone's deal is ok too.

1117361 2010-07-09 04:27:00 Then go Naked with Slingshot / Orcon.

I've heard that Slingshot have been deteriorating lately because of that free after-hours, much like Xnet.

On the other hand, with Vodafone, you can top-up and re-buy 30GB for $30, and their $100 plan including home-line is pretty damn hard to beat!

As well as the free MySky (if you've got Sky that is) :).

1117363 2010-07-09 06:23:00 I'm with Orcon, I pay quite a bit to get 200GB but I find that I can get pretty good speeds apart from BT which is throttled somewhat during peak hours.
However in the last month I DL'd 150GB from steam with an average of 500KB/s any time during the day (saw it peak at 1.1MB/s at one point).
So if speed is what your after, Orcon is pretty good, but you have to pay a slight premium for it.
