828540 2009-11-09 08:02:00 Dad has basically forced me to take a holiday job, and if I don't find one, he'll make me dig holes for fence posts (but I suspect he's exaggerating slightly).

Since I REALLY don't want to dig holes, I'm looking for a part-time job (preferably in computing) in Auckland. (I can't start until the week after next as next week is packed with exams.) Is anyone willing to offer a job (or knows someone who wants someone) to someone who likes nothing more than to fiddle with PCs? :p :help:

828541 2009-11-09 08:04:00 Does this holiday job have to have a salary?:p

If you ring up your local PC shop and ask to do "Unpaid Experience" they'll most likely give you the job.

Otherwise, you can always work at Maccas, Burger King, Subway etc...: X

Preferably yes. :p

The reason he wants me to get a job is for the money.

Also I once applied for a job (well Dad did on my behalf) at Papakura Computer Services, but they turned me down saying they didn't have enough room. Otherwise I'd have that job.

The age, when the parents say its time to make some money of your own. :p

Or a supermarket, internet café, video shop etc…

You could always do a paper run.

Good luck finding a job pcuserwinvista :) (You will need it!) (Hope you have created a CV!)

828546 2009-11-09 09:28:00 Just man up and do some fencing tbh. Nothing more rewarding than a few weeks of good honest labour. roddy_boy (4115)
828547 2009-11-09 09:59:00 Just do anything you can find - apply for retail roles at "computer" stores like Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman, Bond & Bond, DSE etc. and see how you get on. somebody (208)

Jobs in Wellington? Where? I'm looking, but it feels pretty thin on the ground at the moment.
