| 828551 | 2009-11-09 19:49:00 | Jobs in Wellington? Where? I'm looking, but it feels pretty thin on the ground at the moment. I never said wellington ;) The picture was a hint - there are two items in it, one Wgtn and the other a distance - look where 2512Km's is from Wellington. Hence the original quote "but there's a catch - its slightly further a field than Auckland" and selected smilies. :D | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 828557 | 2009-11-09 21:56:00 | A bit of Googling later :D I'm guessing Parkes, Australia? Very close. Just got back from a 10 day holiday in Brisbane / Gold Coast - that photo was taken from the Qdeck. While in the gold cost I visited a couple of computer shops, to get directions - and both times ended up having a bit of a chat to the people (also telling them What I do for a job - they chatted quite cheerfully), both places said the same thing - they have so much work on its not funny (as do most other places). One said they have to work past normal closing time of 5.30, usually till 9.30 -10 PM, just to try and keep up. I asked why not hire some more staff - one just smiled and asked if I was looking for or wanted a job  The other place said they hire people all the time, They have a trail period - but mostly its students that think they know what they are doing, but with real work / problems its to much for them and they quit after about a week or two. Full time people seem to move around a bit from place to place. |
