1117353	2010-07-09 02:42:00	I'm running win 7 ultimate over 2 x RAID 0 seagate barracuda 7200rpm 320gb drives with 128b allocation size. I also have 2 x (non raid) 1TB 7200rpm drives. I am transferring 300gb of data from 1 tb drive to the other. When I made initial 'copy/paste' the transfer rate was @100mb/ sec, ot quickly dropped to 20mb/sec before clawing back up yo @34mb/ sec 10 mins later. Can I do anything in BIOS/elsewhere to get faster transfer rates?	supersi (8401)

"128b allocations size" as far as I'm aware Windows starts at 4KB allocation size (the default) and goes up from there... Also, there is a difference between stripe size (set by the RAID controller) and File allocation size (used by Windows file system, e.g. NTFS or FAT32)	Deimos (5715)

1117356	2010-07-09 08:31:00	Setup a benchmark. Use one big file like a ISO filetype and copy it from one HD to the other, use a stopwatch. Compare it to the other setup. Yours may vary but in my experience if you copy everything for example, all your personal data big and small it will be v slow. I find it quite slow for example my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom's profile files. A single a large ISO file v fast. I don't find it surprising.	Nomad (952)
