829324 2009-11-12 00:25:00 Hi All, me again, on the bludge.

Does anyone here have a live subscription to either:-

Ancestry.com

or

Ancestry.co.au

Who would be willing to do a lookup for me.

Thanks PJ.

829325 2009-11-12 06:01:00 Hey Pops.

Does the .co.uk site help?

Does the .co.uk site help?

No therin lies the problem..Rellies in the UK have a sub to that which they generously let me use. Both in America & Australia, I can find some things but cannot open them without a subscription. There is only a small amount of info that I want to read. Most of my stuff is from the UK. The NZ stuff is well documented, via Lyttleton & "over the top" to Christchurcj about 1860. PJ

829327 2009-11-12 07:26:00 They do offer a 14 day trial. ( I was greedy, chose the annual option, so my card declined).

My wife does search other sites, if you ever decide to try. My apologies for leading you to think I could help.

829329 2009-11-12 23:42:00 PJ, what part of Aussie are you searching?, I got details from and "absolutely bored" Essex contact on my G-Grandmother in Port Adelaide.

She has Victoria cd as well.

Let me know and I will see if she is still bored.

Lurking.

Ps. I have subscribed to ancestry.co.uk, but only the $NZ160.00 sub, too dear I have to say, for just the census data.

lurks.

829331 2009-11-13 17:49:00 Hi PJ, here is the replyfrom Debby,

Les,
I always check the Rootsweb.com World Connect site before I do any
research.
New South Wales BDM's are on line.
Australian Service Records is another useful site as is First Families.
Australian Electoral Rolls are also on line but being Ancestry.com one
only gets the basic information if not a member (I am not yet a member).
Australian Passenger Lists is also a useful site as well especially for NSW.
Hope this is helpful.
I am still in the process of setting up programs on Ubuntu (changed from
Windows) so that I can access all my discs.
Hope this is of help.
If your friend would like me to do the searching, do not hesitate to get
back to me.
Regards
Debby
