| 828601 | 2009-11-09 17:38:00 | I say that even a very devoted person cannot use a Vista "Update" disc for a clean install . I tried to clean install Millennial Edition Update once with no other NT-OpSys installed and it refused even though I had a good non-hacked key . Was that just Millennial Edition or am I correct that you cannot clean install with an update disc? ME wasn't too happy trying to update from 98SE either - but it finally did . NOTE: I have removed all and any ME from ALL my puters, but the thought and perception that I have is that there's NO WAY an update disc can be used for a clean install . Right? |

| 828603 | 2009-11-09 18:34:00 | AFAIK not any more. Once I got a clean install from 95 or 98 update disk, just had to insert a 3.1 setup floppy. If that was how it worked now... I can dream. |

What's Win ME got to do with NT? |

The only catch is that the disc must have the same or newer service pack slipstreamed (so you can't "upgrade" from Vista SP2 to Vista SP1). What's Win ME got to do with NT? Absolutely nothing. :D |

| 828606 | 2009-11-09 19:44:00 | . . . What's Win ME got to do with NT? Not a lot, but ME and Vista will be recorded in PC history as having a similar ability to enthuse non-users . |
