| 1117440 | 2010-07-09 23:50:00 | Hi, All. I have downloaded Avast 5.x. It has a free two month trial licence. I have also got the 'key' for a 12 month licence. However. because it is currently 'Registered' i cannot find where to insert the 12 month licence key. Do i have to wait till the trial licence expires before inserting the 12 month key? | 1117441 | 2010-07-09 23:59:00 | Just prior to the trial period ending Avast will remind you and ask you to insert a key. Recent opinion in this forum seems to suggest that Avast has become a little less efficient over time and most are now going for Microsoft Security Essentials - it's free and had great reports. There's a thread somewhere near the top of the forum dedicated to MSSE - worth a read. |

| 1117443 | 2010-07-10 00:52:00 | I'm with SP8's, use Security Essentials. Usually whats happened in the past is when Avast email you your key to enter in, it also includes instructions on right-clicking the spinning A-Icon in the systray and then entering it. |
