830442 2009-11-15 19:40:00 If you are sick of Outlook Express try Windows Live Mail. Will work in Windows XP as will as Windows 7.

830443 2009-11-15 19:47:00 Yeah it basically a combo of Outlook and Outlook Express, has a calender etc.

Mind you it is very "bland" looking, but other than that works well. Its not limited to Live / Hotmail either, you can use your regular mail from your ISP.

830444 2009-11-15 20:14:00 Windows live is very good but one annoying thing about it is it has no send or receive button on it so if you want to check if any new mail iscoming while you are typing an e mail you have to shut it down and open it up again.

Otherwise it's good

830445 2009-11-15 20:35:00 Actually Live mail does have a send and receive - In Their "Wisdom" Microsoft changed it.

The "send/receive" button has been replaced with a "Sync" button. Took a bit of trial and error to locate that.

830446 2009-11-15 20:40:00 I like the quick view menu down the left hand side particularly add email account button which was hidden in the tools accounts menu in OE. Have had quite a few people asking me how to set up a new email account in OE.

Why? I'd rather use Thunderbird.

830448 2009-11-15 21:16:00 TB with an OE skin works well for people with Win7 who are stuck in the past. wratterus (105)

830451 2009-11-15 23:42:00 I found that the calender reminder is the RC version did not work. Set a reminder and nothing happened.. paulw (1826)
