830401 2009-11-16 07:11:00 I only just realised the other day how much I would be screwed if my calculator died in the exam!

I took spare batteries last year. There's no sign of it dying yet, so I should be OK.

Also how do I do/get the national certificate in computing? What is it? And what level (1,2,3 etc) is it at? And is it really worth it?

The NCC is at Level 2. I have no idea how to obtain the forms as my computer tech teacher simply gave us the Word documents.

Oh and I just have to ask...what are you doing when you leave school?

Good question. :p Possibly university.

:waughh:

Don't worry, you'll get it once you see a graph/diagram ;)

Hmm I just looked and I have alredy passed 3 of the standards required so I have sent an email with a few questions...might be something to do during the holidays!

Any idea what you will study?

830405 2009-11-16 23:33:00 LOL I got first in year for computing... passed all the L1 stuff and L2 stuff. Out of interest what stuff did you do this year?

Our stuff was very simple, I'm amazed at how anyone could fail it.

We did:

Use and maintain personal computer peripherals - had to make a poster - 3 L2 credits.

Use computer technology to present a topic - Present a powerpoint - 3 L2 credits

Create a simple website using a text editor to meet the specifications of a given brief - Use notepad to code a basic HTML website - 4 L2 credits.

We were suppose to do much more, but the classes moved too slowly through out the year, so the rest got scrapped. I wanted to do the computer hardware side of things, but got scraped.

I managed to pass everything - which was lucky, as I had to to get the National Certificate in Computing. (To get enough credits, I had to pass everything and do an extra standard (2780), as I was only taking one computing subject. The other one was way too easy for me. :p)

I managed to pass everything i did as well, but was very easy, i think why many people failed in my class was due to laziness, or not being able to follow instructions.

830406 2009-11-17 03:17:00 Did anyone else here do L2 Physics today, specifically 90254 waves? I found question 2d difficult to understand. pcuser42 (130)
830407 2009-11-17 03:58:00 Hmmm I had L1 English today. I only stayed for about 1 1/2 hours. xyz823 (13649)

I had English as well, Actually found it pretty easy, managed to write my 3 essays and unfamiliar text in 2 hours.

830409 2009-11-17 05:28:00 I though that the english questions were abit odd. There is usually something easy such as describe a character etc etc but all of the questions were "harder" as such. xyz823 (13649)

Agreed.
What i had been taught through out the year didn't really line up with the questions, ended up trying to adapt my essays to fit in with the question of why was the main idea important to learn and explain why.
