2009-11-15 01:59:00 | I put this saga down to my love affair with convergent technologies. I thought it would be smart to roll everything into one device. Smartphones need bluetooth to sound decent. For $90 I'll just get an ordinary mp3 player with 3.5 jack. I already have reasonable headphones. I'm putting bluetooth far behind me. I'm no longer in love with convergent technology. Bluetooth expensive and unreliable.Well what did you expect? You bought a very low-end set of headphones, and then you're surprised when they turn out to be low-end headphones? For that price you'd expect something pretty decent if they were 'normal' wired ones, but noting the model you refer to has stereo bluetooth and active noise cancelling, and a remote, you're basically talking about the absolute bottom-of-the-range product here. If you buy cheap junk, you have to look after it - cheap junk isn't required to be as reliable as expensive junk, nor does it have to be of similar quality :p. You also say that they lasted 4 months before breaking, which means it's unlikely to be a defect in either materials or workmanship - noting the way those things are built, if that was really the cause, they should have broken far, far earlier.

2009-11-15 02:12:00 | I don't consider $90 for headphones cheap. I've got $60 sennheiser 5 years old going and $30 sony going.

2009-11-15 02:51:00 | I don't consider $90 for headphones cheap. I've got $60 sennheiser 5 years old going and $30 sony going. It's not cheap in absolute dollar terms, but it's very cheap for the feature set you were purchasing - I doubt you'll find many, if any, lower-priced headphones providing the same features. It's like saying $10,000 is expensive for a brand new car - it's a lot of money, but it's extremely cheap for the particular item you're buying. good poetry by the wayThanks .

2009-11-15 04:10:00 | Yes your right. I only want one feature getting the sound from the device to my ears. For all the features I paid for in shoddy construction. I couldn't watch a video properly or play a video game streaming bluetooth. Apparently you can but god knows the cost of that little luxury. It's being an informative afternoon. Thanks It's settled. The 3.5 jack is king. Bluetooth look at it sharply and it will die.

2009-11-15 10:47:00 | I have found companies have become more and more difficult at replacing stuff recently, and will blame 'wear and tear', or they will blame you for causing the problem. eg I have a paid of apple ipod earphones where the rubber on them started falling apart, and coming apart from the plastic. They called this normal wear and tear and wouldn't replace them, as they said it was a 'consumable'. I have an electrolux vacuum clean where the plastic pole adjuster cracked from normal usage, they were able to blame this on me, saying I may have dropped it, and they diagnosed this all from a photo! They also didn't have replacement parts for it, which they are required to provide under the CGA. I would never deal with PB tech wellington, as I have emailed them several times with sales enquires , and never got any reply. I normally deal with Ascent, who are excellent at dealing with warranty issues.
