Although they do have a point, you need to be careful with the security side of things - having one's site and / or server compromised is never fun, and all too easy to allow. | Erayd (23)

Whether a site validates also does not affect search engine rankings, although I have heard some of tehse SEO companies claim that a site needs to validate to get a good ranking. | robbyp (2751)
| 829782 | 2009-11-14 02:01:00 | Also the standards are always changing, so one that validates one day, may not validate the next. That's rubbish. Formal standards, once standardised, never change. Any changes are made by incrementing the version, rather than messing with an already fixed standard. Whether a site validates also does not affect search engine rankings, although I have heard some of tehse SEO companies claim that a site needs to validate to get a good ranking. It does not need to validate to get a good ranking - it just has to be good enough for the search engine to understand it. |
