830306 2009-11-15 05:46:00 We had the appliance doctors fix ours, Though price up a new one first so you know how much is too much to spend fixing it. Metla (12)
830307 2009-11-15 06:04:00 if your not interested in using it, get a plumber to put a pipe in instead plod (107)
830308 2009-11-15 06:34:00 Have a look yourself and make sure all the connections are secure. There is a metal ring that secures the machine to the bottom of the sink that is at the top of it and that should be tight. the plastic outlet fitting should also be secure. Any plumber will be able to sort it for you. The average home handyman could do it also. I cannot think of anwhere else it could leak. CliveM (6007)
830309 2009-11-15 06:41:00 This information here - PROBLEM: Leaking Garbage Disposal (homerepair.about.com) - may help track down what part is leaking. I used it when attempting to fix my insinkerator recently; unfortunately it turns out it has a terminally seized cutting blade.

I think I will have mine removed and have it changed to a regular drain outlet. I rarely ever used it, which is probably why it has seized up.

830310 2009-11-15 07:00:00 none of those fix it details are where the water leaks from mine...........

the pic states the upper hopper chamber and lower hopper chamber is where it leaks from........

homerepair.about.com

maybe it needs tightneing?

me and electrical things are not for each other, so maybe i shouldnt touch it:p
thankxs for that helpful link Jen.....

830314 2009-11-15 18:58:00 Mine packed up in similar circumstances, water everywhere. Shot round to Mitre 10 and chucked a new one in pretty darned quick. It was 15 years old so thought it was probably past its use by date.

The price of a new one was pretty reasonable and the fact that we were going out to a concert and daughter was over from Sydney and having a bun fight with her old mates clinched the matter.
