829859 2009-11-13 22:34:00 I have just bought a secondhand Samsung sch-531. When I try to connect it to my laptop so I can transfer some music to the mp3 the laptop doesn't even register that the usb is connected. I went to Dick Smith to try and get a new usb or the driver software needed, they assuered me the cable was ok and I should go to Samsung website to download the software. So very trustingly, off I go to Samsung, but.... not even a mention of the model!!! I've looked everywhere to find the software but to no avail. Can anyone help me? xstitch4eva (15423)
829860 2009-11-13 22:36:00 Plug it into another PC.

If that one doesn't even recognize a devise has been plugged it, Throw the MP3 player in the bin.

829861 2009-11-13 22:47:00 It's a cellphone. I just want to put some of my music on it to use for ringtones, and to transfer photos and videos off the phone onto the computer. I just tried it again and I got a little bubble in the corner saying that drivers are being installed, and then that drivers are missing. Is there some program I can download from somewhere to find the missing drivers? xstitch4eva (15423)

829864 2009-11-13 23:16:00 You don't need any drivers for it. Once you connect the cable to the phone and PC, it's Menu / Tools / User Memory / Connect PC

Once that's done, you need to disconnect via the mau as well to restore the phone back online.

829865 2009-11-14 00:58:00 I tried that, Bob, and it said connecting for about 10 minutes, then I gave up.

Dave, I downloaded the program, and installed it, but no luck. Could be because I am running vista not xp.
thanks for the help though.

lol, metla, I was tempted. only the threat of never hearing from my kids prevented me from doing it.

829867 2009-11-14 01:49:00 For my Samsung phone, not the same model, I use PC Studio 3.1, supplied by Samsung. This includes USB driver and is for XP & W2000. Easy to find on the net. Peter H (220)
829868 2009-11-14 01:59:00 I'll try that and see if it works with vista. Oh for my old laptop with xp, far too many program issues with vista. xstitch4eva (15423)
