831952 2009-11-20 11:33:00 ATI have just released their latest monster. The most powerful gaming card on the market AFAIK.

Say hello to the Sapphire HD5970 (www.computerlounge.co.nz)

I can't see myself buying one anytime soon. If you're planning driving multiple monitors this may be for you. At 12" long, many people may find that it won't fit in their cases.

(I hate to think what the Asus/Gigabyte versions are going to cost)

831953 2009-11-20 11:39:00 Yeah i might just clear some change out of my car and go grab one.

How the hell do they justify that sorta money

831954 2009-11-20 11:43:00 They don't have to. If you look at the amount of SLI/CF rigs out there, there seems to be the willingness and $$$ around to support it.

Wait until someone has three of these NO2/Liquid Helium cooled. It's a mad arms race. I think most people would find they'd struggle to push a 4870 1GB, let alone one of these.

And we still haven't seen Nvidia's next offerings...

Wow. Gonna be one heck of a GPU when linked up!

831957 2009-11-20 19:18:00 It's already one heck of a GPU :D

Can't wait for the day when I have a wall of screens running games off something like this ;)

Heck, hooking it up to my 46" TV and gaming in 1920x1080 would be nice!

Take a look at benchmarks versus the 5870. Nah, I wouldn't bother.

831961 2009-11-24 08:19:00 wow great price I will have to re-think things.

I was about to order a Nvidia Tesla S2070 video workstation card for around $26,216 ($US 18995).

At only $1400 the 5970 is a steal!!
